1. Who we are
Anchor World (“we”, “us”) is a topic-based community platform. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. Contact: privacy@anchorworld.org.
2. Information we collect
Depending on how you use the app, we may collect:
- Account data — email, password (hashed), name, and verification status.
- Profile data — photo, bio, topics/interests, city/country (if you choose), and optional profile media.
- Community content — posts, comments, media you upload, circle memberships, and shares.
- Communications — messages, voice notes, and related metadata needed to deliver chat.
- Calls — call session metadata (participants, duration, call type). Audio/video streams are processed to provide the call and are not stored as lasting recordings by default.
- Points & purchases — Anchor Points balance/transactions and subscription status via our payment partner (e.g. Apple, Google, RevenueCat).
- Device & notifications — device identifiers for push notifications (FCM), app version, and basic diagnostics.
- Safety signals — reports, blocks, and moderation actions you or we take.
3. How we use information
- Provide and improve community features (circles, feed, chat, calls, points).
- Authenticate you, secure accounts, and prevent abuse or fraud.
- Send transactional notices (e.g. connection requests, messages, security alerts) and optional product updates you allow.
- Process subscriptions and point-related unlocks.
- Comply with law and enforce our Terms and community standards.
4. Sharing
We share data only as needed to run the service:
- Other users — profile and content you make public or share in circles/chat.
- Service providers — hosting, analytics/diagnostics, push delivery, media processing, payments, and real-time communications (e.g. Agora for calls).
- Legal — when required by law or to protect users, rights, or safety.
5. Retention
We keep account and content data while your account is active. After deletion requests, we remove or anonymize personal data within a reasonable period (typically within 30 days), except where we must retain limited records for legal, security, or dispute reasons.
6. Your choices & rights
- Update profile information in the app.
- Control notification preferences in the app.
- Block or report other users.
- Request access, correction, or deletion via Account Deletion or privacy@anchorworld.org.
Depending on where you live (e.g. EEA/UK/California), you may have additional privacy rights. Contact us to exercise them. We will not discriminate against you for doing so.
7. Children
Anchor World is for users 18 years of age and older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. See our Child Safety Standards.
8. Security
We use industry-standard safeguards (encryption in transit, access controls, hashed passwords). No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure; please use a strong unique password.
9. International transfers
We may process data in countries other than your own. Where required, we use appropriate safeguards for such transfers.
10. Changes
We may update this policy. We will post the new version with an updated date and, when appropriate, provide additional notice in the app.
